Non DB2 COBOL program execution

Hi
i have a non db2+cobol program (A) calling other few DB2+cobol programs (B) so, i have compiled B with db2 option set as ‘Y’ and A compiled as a normal cobol program. And to execute A i use RUN command in IKJEFT01 step using the Plan for B . do i need to move the code changes A to any test region /respective region why?.
