IBM Websphere application server

IBM has always shown commitment in the ways of attracting the customers to the good old legacy systems. IBM came up with IBM websphere application server which would allow the Java applications to run on mainframe. The interface supported by websphere application server is standard and is common across platforms. IBM WAS started with v 6.1 and the latest in the market is 7.0. Although there may be some speculations if this new system would be able to achieve the higher standards set by CICS. Keeping aside the speculations, IBM websphere application server is likely to add value by integrating the legacy applications with the latest J2EE applications.
