GDG version in report

I have to create a report which takes input from
a GDG dataset, in this report I need to take all the
data from GDG and reformat it, I am able to do that using sort
But I need to print the version of the GDG used for extracting
the data.
Lets say the gdg used is MY.GDG.G1240V00
now my report should contain the name of this gdg in the header
along with the data in this GDG.

Hard to help here without
Hard to help here without knowing what you are using to create the report. If you are using REXX, you can use the LISTDSI function to get the dataset name
